Curiosidades: a música foi composta em 1929 para a peça The Threepenny Opera (Die Moritat von Mackie Messer, no original em alemão) onde "Mack" era MacHeath, personagem principal da peça e que era um criminoso. Apesar da música possuir um clima alegre, até divertido, ela discorre sobre roubos e assassinatos.
Esta canção ficou no topo da lista das melhores 40 nos Estados Unidos com 7 artistas diferentes, tais como, The Dick Hyman Trio, Richard Hayman e Jan August, Lawrence Welk, Louis Armstrong, Billy Vaughn, Darin, and Ella Fitzgerald. No final da década de 80 o McDonald's utilizou esta música para a promoção de jantares "Mac Tonight" (algo como, Mac hoje á noite).
